As part of the All Aboard! high school transition program, a team of West Allis Central High School Bulldogs headed to West Milwaukee Intermediate School to share information about what to expect in the coming year.

The high school students were happy to visit West Milwaukee (for some it was a walk down memory lane) and talk with intermediate students about their experiences in high school.

Our group of high school students met with 8th graders for a presentation in a “question and answer" format.  We talk about what it means to be a Bulldog so that students really know about the things that are important to them. Afterwards, the high school students eat lunch with the intermediate school students.  Now, there’s a familiar face students will see at the high school,” says Angela Gerloski, the Central Social Studies teacher that coordinates the All Aboard! program.

The All Aboard!
high school transition program is a series of events designed to help 8th graders make a positive transition to high school.  Students and their parents visit their high school on 8th Grade Preview Nights in addition to meeting with their intermediate school counselors for high school planning conferences.  Other events include small group panel discussions with high school students that visit the intermediate school and a field trip to the high school to learn more about extra-curricular activities and electives.
